by Cody NoldenObama didn’t get to the presidency because people forced him. He put himself on the list, and we elected him.
Likewise, most of the good things we achieve in our lives are the result of “putting ourselves on the list.” We put ourselves out there and see what happens.
Yet our society often discourages putting ourselves on the list. Humble people, we reason, don’t aim to be president or CEO. Trying to change the world is too presumptuous.
But we have to be presumptuous. We have to strive for what we know is right, or nothing will ever happen in this world. We need to put ourselves out there and see what happens.
